The Missing Snack

Well, I have quite a few things to write about this week! I’ve been running around a good portion of this morning and didn’t get a chance to write last night due to being a little under the weather. Well, it happens.

I was late and didn’t get to write what I intended to for a good reason. I took my nephew to school in Queens like I have been doing since my mother’ s surgery. I live about ten miles away but between traffic and making the trip to Queens three times a day, I was over it. I got all the way back home and realized that my nephew left his snack for the day right on the steps. I guess it fell out of his bag when we were headed out tge door.

Even though it was just snack, we all know how much it sucks to have mentally prepared yourself and looked forward to said snack just to be disappointed that you left it at home. I thought about what my father would have done. He would have turned right around and dropped it off. So that’s exactly what I did. I made the drive back to Queens to get this snack to my nephew. When he saw me with it at the door he was relieved. He didn’t even know it was missing which means he would have really been upset had he looked in his bag to see that it wasn’t there.

You go out of your way for the little ones because they remember those moments. Its huge to them but for us its clockwork.
